Promise Ball
Please join JDRF on Friday, May 7, 2010 for the 25th Annual JDRF Promise Ball! We’re excited to announce that our Honorary Chairs for this special evening will be Detroit Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz and his wife Kathy. The event will take place at the elegant Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn and is expected to draw 400 guests from across Metro Detroit.

As always, the Promise Ball will be an elegant and fun-filled evening with special guests, wonderful entertainment, and fabulous auction items. There will also be a very special moment after the live auction when the room is stilled and the story of hope unfolds; we call this special time our Fund A Cure. During this time, guests will have the opportunity to donate directly to research, funding the science that will one day transform the lives of our family members and friends with type 1 diabetes. Proceeds from this year’s Fund A Cure will be directed toward JDRF’s Artificial Pancreas Program and are 100% tax deductible. You need not be in attendance to donate.

JDRF will also present two special awards that evening to individuals who have distinguished themselves through their dedication and support to research and patient care. The Jane Jospey Cobb Promise Award will be presented to Mrs. Rita Haddow, and a Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Dr. Fred W. Whitehouse, endocrinologist at Henry Ford Hospital.

Reservations for this black-tie optional event are $275 per person or $2,650 for a table of ten. For more information on how to make a Fund A Cure donation, or to place a special message in the evening’s program book, please contact Susan Kossik at 248.355.1133 or at skossik@jdrf.org or visit www.jdrfdetroitpromiseball.org.
